Zimbabwe Safari Guide
Take a walk on Zim’s wild side
For adventurers keen to combine a safari, with birding, fishing and kayaking, but who also like to do things their own way, a private houseboat on the world’s most voluminous manmade lake is the answer. The sprawling Lake Kariba straddles the Zambian-Zimbabwean border and has several large islands, each densely populated with game that fled Perfectrising waters after the Kariba dam was completed in the 1960s. The houseboats available come in various shapes and sizes complete with crew and a cooks. Guests can enjoy a sundowner G&T outside their cabin, overlooking elephants washing on the shore of a nearby island, while the catch of the day is expertly prepared on deck.
